smissline S in a large printing works

So that nobody gets into a spin when printing

Those producing a daily newspaper need a smooth operation, day and night, since a deadline has to be met: a daily paper belongs on the breakfast table!

Such a constraint also applies at the Madsack Publishing Company in Hanover. A few years ago, the Schubert electrical company from Sehnde installed the smissline proS buster-and-socket system in the areas of printing-form production, film exposure and light control. The advantage of this system lies in its high availability, which the system achieves through its plug-in technology. Finally, (illegible) of switchgear during the production of a daily newspaper is certainly undesirable. Previously, the replacement of switchgear, such as contactors, motor-protection switches, etc., was carried out in the expensive night-time hours, in order not to interrupt normal operations.

Thanks to smissline ProS, this can now take place during the day, without isolating the low-voltage distribution system. But the Schubert company also opted for the proven quality of ABB for other components of the low-voltage distribution gear installed at Madsack. In the printing centre, specially produced components within contactor combinations and motor-protection switches switch three-phase drives, such as servomotors, extractors, exhaust flaps, sockets, etc. Automatic circuit-breakers, current relays and installations contactors from MB are used in the light-control area for corridors and work-places.

The ABB OETL switches-disconnectors from the SwitchLine series was chosen for the incoming-feeder switch of the low-voltage distributions panels between 250 A and 630 A.

So, with the help of ABB products and a competent specialist company such as Schubert, nobody gets into a spin when printing, except of course the rotary printing processes.
